What data, why, and on what basis?
Your orders. First name, last name, email address, billing address, country, [phone number if the field is requested], shipping address for physical products (book), order and download history. This data is used to process your order, give you access to your patterns, issue invoices, and meet our accounting and tax obligations (including VAT on digital products sold in the European Union). Legal basis: performance of the contract and our legal obligations. Payments are processed by WooPayments (Stripe) and PayPal: we never have access to your bank card number.
Your customer account. Username, email address and password (encrypted), to allow you to find your orders and downloads. Legal basis: performance of the contract.
The contact form. Name, email address and the content of your message, to reply to you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to your requests.
The newsletter. Your email address, if you sign up. The newsletter is managed by Substack. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in each email.
Test knitters. Name, email address and information shared during pattern tests. Communications go through Mailchimp. Legal basis: your consent.
Blog comments. Name, email address, comment content and IP address. Comments are analyzed by the Akismet anti-spam service. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in fighting spam.
Site security. IP address and connection data, recorded by our host and our security tool (Wordfence) to protect the site against attacks. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in securing the site and your data.
Cookies and trackers. With your consent only, we use audience measurement and advertising trackers (Meta/Facebook and Instagram, Pinterest, Google) as well as embedded content (YouTube videos, Instagram posts). Who receives your data?
Your data is never sold. It is only shared with the service providers necessary for the site to operate:
- OVHcloud (hosting, France)
- WooPayments (Automattic and Stripe) and PayPal (payment)
- Substack (newsletter)
- Mailchimp (communication with test knitters[, customer sync if enabled])
- Akismet (anti-spam) and Wordfence (security)
- Meta, Pinterest and Google (advertising and audience measurement, only with your consent)
- La Poste (delivery of physical products)
Some of these providers are located in the United States. These transfers are governed by appropriate safeguards, including the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
How long is it kept?
- Orders and invoices: 10 years (accounting obligation).
- Customer account: until it is deleted, or 3 years after your last activity.
- Contact messages: the time needed to process your request, then 3 years at most.
- Newsletter and test knitters: until you unsubscribe.
- Security data: 12 months at most.
- Cookies: 13 months at most. Your consent choice is kept for 6 months.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port and object to the processing of your data, as well as the right to withdraw your consent at any time and to set instructions regarding what happens to your data after your death. To exercise these rights, write to contact@lucileateliersdesigns.com. We will reply within one month.
If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can file a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
Security
The site is protected by an encrypted connection (HTTPS), an application firewall, regular backups, and secure administrator access.
